We are looking for a motivated Backend/Platform Engineer to join our remote team and help build the foundation of our AI-native QA solution. This is a unique opportunity to join before our Series A and have a major impact on a fast-moving product and team backed by Y Combinator (S21). About Us: We’re a Seed Stage startup founded by veterans of the consumer and mobile app space, with 15+ years of experience. Our product GPT Driver is an AI-native solution for testing digital products, starting with functional end-to-end automation for mobile apps—a space where existing tools fall short. Our vision is to expand across Web, Desktop, and into non-functional testing like performance and accessibility. We have been first movers in our space (launched early 2023) and are working with world-class mobile teams including Duolingo, Salesforce, and Groupon. About the Role: Own and develop the platform layer of our AI-powered product, including runtimes and supporting backend systems. Collaborate closely with a small, skilled team of frontend and fullstack AI engineers to define, implement, and scale our systems. As a generalist, you enjoy solving problems across the stack and aren’t afraid to explore new territory. What We’re Looking For: 3+ years of relevant engineering experience, ideally with exposure to fast-paced startup environments. Strong experience building and maintaining cloud-based backend systems. Experience (or strong interest) in running mobile emulators/simulators and headless browsers in isolated environments. Self-motivated and comfortable working in a fully remote setup. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset. What We Offer: Competitive compensation: $4,000 - $7,000/month based on experience. Remote-first culture with flexible working hours. Equity options for long-term ownership and upside. A chance to shape the technical foundation of an innovative AI product. High ownership and autonomy in decision-making.
