I’ve started trying out Bazzite, but it’s definitely not ready to replace Windows yet. HDR was a pain to get working, only for me to find SteamInput is disabled when I get HDR active. I haven’t tried VR yet, but I’m a bit worried that won’t go well.
As I understand it, PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND is needed for HDR, at least on gnome, which is what I am using.
I think KDE might have somewhat better HDR support right now, but I much prefer gnome and am trying to use Bazzite as a daily driver besides just games.
It’s also hard to get certain things working.

That sounds like a bug in wine 10.0 that was fixed shortly after release.
On Bazzite, it looks like you can just use protonup-qt to upgrade to the latest GE-Proton (ge-proton10-23, currently) and make sure you’ve set Steam to use it by default (you can also set it on a per-game basis) and you shouldn’t have SteamInput issues.
Doesn’t seem to be a bug.
