    It’s important for the project as whole to be able to
    move forward and rely on modern tools and technologies
    and not be held back by trying to shoehorn modern software
    on retro computing devices.

    Yeah if you don’t support Rust then you’re a “retro computing device,” and supporting your platform requires “shoehorning.”

    This kind of attitude is what damages the whole Rust project and reinforces the widely held perception of “Rust bros.”
