I’ve played my usual setup for people and it’s always too quiet for them to near, but it’s louder than every creak and pop of the house. I mean, a self contained LAN is still feasible. Data can be a transferred through an air-gapped method like flash drives, DVDs, blurays, etc. It would probably be largely fine for most things, just slower.
Of course, any long-distance communication method could be compromised. Cell towers would be a huge risk, radios could be unsafe, and even cameras could be a risk since they can see a long distance. The power grid could send signals in the minute voltage drops as things draw more power.
In short, we’re fucked and we can only pick the speed and intensity.
I have found almost all radio status near me play a mix of 12 songs and ads. Tuning in to any station was likely to result in ads and not music.
My radio is tuned to static so I can get into my car without being forced into hearing an ad while my Bluetooth connects and I can start playing a book.
A ton of smart buttons. Every time you do the task you push the button and a time helper is updated to the next date. If today is beyond that date, update a second boolean helper to show the task must be again!

They can’t buy one at the store, can’t reuse one that has expired so finding one won’t help, and if theft is a concern they would just need to be secured like any other restricted good. I would say it’s at least as secure alcohol, tobacco, or firearms.
You know how there are stores that sell restricted substances and verify your age by checking a provided ID? Have those same stores sell a cheap, sealed card with a confirmation code on it. You can enter that code online to verify any service. The code expires after a set period of time after it’s first use to prevent sharing and misuse.
This system would be as secure as the restrictions on the restricted substance, such as alcohol, so it should be fine for “protecting the children”
Depends on the demographic you are interacting with. When networking with other professionals it is probably easier to just scan a QR code to a file of contact information. A quick import and you’re already in my contracts.
In terms of being able to leave the information somewhere, cards work well. Attaching to a project portfolio, handing to someone so they can pass it on, leaving as a support contract after a project is complete, etc.
At one time I worked a block from home, but frequently needed to drive around town, so I would drive into the office. At the same time I was trying to drink more water and was using the propylene-glycol additive Mio for flavor. This has a… loosening effect in sufficient doses.
