11·6 months agoNah, it’s a depressing reality mostly, because like I said, the mindset is common. It doesn’t lead anywhere good for anyone, with even those at the pinnacle being sad and pathetic, but that doesn’t make life any better for those who aren’t like you. Life just ends up sucking for everyone. No meaning behind any of it.

11·6 months agoLol, of course not. That’s not why a troll trolls. They try to inflict pain and suffering on others in the most meek way possible. You’re not trying to impress us, only yourself.

61·6 months agoIt’s always so satisfying when you have no better response than pre baked strawmen that are totally disconnected from anything I was talking about. You desperately want to go back to your safe space, but watching you degenerate into a parrot is the whole reason I respond to bait like this

61·6 months agoNothing is more in line with our current economy of landlords and venture capitalists than middlemen who add nothing of value. As right wingers usually do, you position boring ass unoriginal parasitism as countercultural. Like a mold being proud of growing when it’s damp and dark.

I’m convinced at this point that you so called nihilistic ragebaiters are just fascists 99% of the time. Taking joy from acting like an absolute piece of shit is typical behavior for people who only ever care about winning. You set yourself up in a position where you can’t possibly lose because you’re a weakling. It doesn’t matter that you never actually get anywhere in life when you’re high cruelty.

3·10 months agoAgain, are you respecting someone’s identity? I don’t care what you think you’re doing; if you aren’t recognizing a person as the person they are, then the conclusion is that you’re mistreating someone. The world isn’t a place where your self perceptions overwrite the person you actually are.

41·10 months agoThere are plenty of respectful debates about trans issues, and tolerance of people genuinely not understanding queer topics. What cannot be debated respectfully is whatever or not to respect a person"s identity. No amount of polite language can make such a conversation respectful, as you’re refusing to do the bare minimum required to speak to that person as an equal.
Creating a tolerant space requires not tolerating intolerance. This is not an authoritarian insight, but one centered on maximizing the freedom of everyone. If you demand a space where you can debate a basic fact about myself, then that is not a space in which I am free.

politics @lemmy.world•Elon Musk's drug use was "far more serious" than previously known: NYT reportEnglish
1·10 months agoOnly influence as someone accomplishing only what Trump wants. He was only listened to when his goals fully aligned with Trump’s. Such henchmen only have the illusion of influence, as they have no real freedom to act on their own.
It’s a perfect example of the illusion of control Trump sells to the rich; they will only benefit by playing along, and will not get anywhere if they don’t. He really doesn’t need to listen to them, as they have no real power to wield over him.
Unlike under the liberal system where they could do any number of things to undermine politicians’ power because politicians were bound to the ballot box, Trump effectively isn’t anymore. He might legit die before his term is up, and is capable of thoroughly corrupting the system enough to remain in power without elections if he does. He is redesigning the government to not need congress or the judiciary, meaning nobody will really be able to stop him within the system.
Violent methods become the only option, and there is no shot the wealthy libs will actually be brave enough to act out. Most will just ride the grift until Trump dies, knowing full well they’ll face little accountability for sponsoring death camps.

272·11 months agoMore like “Elong outlived his meger usefulness and Trump booted him like he always meant to.” Trump has long disliked Elonga, and as soon as Elongat showed any signs of acting independently, he was doomed. He was kicked out for the same reason McCarthy was replaced by a nobody like Johnson, the same reason a weakling like Pence was needed for VP. There’s just no room on it for anybody with independent power; only the king can sail.
The ship is far from sinking, and not recognizing that we’re stuck with Trump until he dies is wishful thinking.

We STILL haven’t even seen the worst of it. People consistently lacked the willingness to recognize that it could happen here, even when the threat was imminent. They don’t want to think unhappy thoughts, don’t want to think their world is crumbling, don’t want to acknowledge that things will never go back to how they were. It’s incredibly frustrating how much people delude themselves so they don’t need to stare into the void.
