IP laws are bullshit.
The people who made the first game don’t have the right to make a proper sequel with the IP they created?
Correct.
Basically, the original Kerbal studio and team got scattered to the wind by some dipshit idiot corpo Project Lead from TakeTwo, fired most of the original team, before getting any real documentation on their incredibly modified version of Unity, and then just hired a bunch of new people to make KSP2, and well, they really couldn’t possibly have succeeded.

Apparently, the IP is now owned by…

These people, I think?
Some random fucking Private Investment outfit from Austin Texas, that basically funds Jagex (Runescape), and other than that, a bunch of mediocre corpo slop type games. And yes, Dead by Daylight is a mediocre corpo slop type game.
So basically Kerbal is fucked forever and will never come back as any kind of a competent product.
Also bonus if you want to see what a bunch of people without honor or humanity look like:

On the other hand, Rocketwerkz has a fair number of the actual Kerbal devs, as well as a few of its extremely talented and persistent modders on its team.
Reminds me of how Valve used to do things back in the day.
KSP is dead, long live KSA!
