I read the whole thing because I’ve also been to Costco, but at the end I was thinking, what was the point of that?
This piece reads like an essay version of the poem A Supermarket in California — I believe it’s meant to be reflective and introspective, not informative.
I guess I didn’t relate enough to the author to get enough out of it. It held my attention but at the end, I felt empty.
Maybe that is more a reflection on the culture of Costco capitalism than the author’s words.
