As many critics of technology will tell you, the values are baked in. For instance, a Flock camera isn’t just a camera owned by the nefarious Flock company. It is a technology meant to capture license plates and report their location in real time to law enforcement.

AI isn’t some neutral technology, either. To train an AI, you first need the capital to do so, then the input. Often the input is media that affirms certain biases, etc.

Luckily for us, AI does very few things well at all and it is more costly than a human when it comes to replacing tech workers. This gives space for these people to unionize and demand better conditions before technology can replace them.
