They’re missing a huge part of this: if you build a custom jira using an llm, no-one you hire will know how it works or how to use it. Everyone’s used jira and the ramp time is infinitesimal, and your new pm might have some tricks from their previous workplaces; no-one wants to learn your new proprietary query language for the 18 months to 2 years they’ll use your custom solution before you lay them off so that line goes up.
