American factories deserve a supply chain that moves as fast as they do. The next generation of American manufacturing is being built right now. NOX METALS (YC S25) is the supply chain powering it. We use software and automation to supply metal to American factories faster than the industry thought possible. We closed our $13M seed round in June and are accelerating faster than ever.  We are hiring software engineers in Detroit to build the intelligent platform that runs our factories. You will write the software that quotes orders, manages inventory, drives $500K industrial saws, and revolutionizes metals ecommerce. You will ship to production constantly and watch your code move metal on the floor the same day. You will: - Own features end to end across the stack, from database schema to the screen - Build and extend our core systems: the factory command platform, the nesting and quoting engine, the customer portal, and inventory and demand intelligence - Wire software directly into saws, automation, and shop floor hardware - Turn messy real world operations into clean systems that run themselves - Use AI tooling aggressively to ship more in a day than most engineers ship in a week - Spend real time on the factory floor so you understand the problems you are solving - Take big, ambiguous problems and bring them all the way to done without being told how You should be: - High agency and able to own large items alone, while asking for help when you need it - Fast. You feel urgency and you move with it - Organized enough to keep a lot of moving pieces straight at once - Raw smart, with the horsepower to pick up new domains quickly - Cracked with AI tools and always finding new ways to push them further - Low ego and obsessed with the customer - The kind of person who takes work off other people's plates and never says "that's not my job" - Always bringing new ideas, often from outside the world of metals and manufacturing - Mission driven, the kind of person who could see themselves building this for the next 30 years - Familiar with our Typescript stack: NestJS, Next.js, React, and Supabase. - Wanting to be working outside normal hours to pursue our mission This role is full time, in person in Detroit.
