    ZKP makes it possible for people to prove that something about them is true without exchanging any other data. So, for example, a person visiting a website can verifiably prove he or she is over 18, without sharing anything else at all.

    Except that isn’t the point of age verification.

    The entire point of age verification is to sledgehammer open state sanctioned mass surveillance. To definitively link online content to the people who made it such that dissidents against fascism and authoritarianism can be effectively neutralized.

    The government wants to make “age verification” so painful that websites will be strongly incentivised to make use of “approved methods” like Palantier’s Persona platform. This will permit wholesale hoovering up of any and all personal data for analysis.
