    Nonsense:

    A study released in October 2025 found that 84 percent of high school students use AI to brainstorm ideas

    Not to say this is Gospel, it’s in the article, but I think captures the general vibe that high school students and higher education peeps at the very least are using this tech day to day at massive scale. Younger kids less so as they are more likely under the control of parents that are weirded out but this is not the same as the kids being weirded out by it.

    The general argument that we’ll all lose our minds and everything will be rubbish if we taste this novel tech is as old as Adam chilling in the garden. It is what Socrates is droning on about when writing was going viral or Conrad Gessner’s “confusing and harmful abundance of books” in the wake of Guttenberg’s devilry drowning western Europe in Maleficaurum.

    I grew up when computer games & vhs tapes were melting children’s brains, deep blue was ruining chess and cranky old people were being forced to interact with computers just to tread water in society.
