A walkthrough of a GreptimeDB performance PR that rewrites a single function on the Prometheus remote read path. Borrowing from Arrow arrays instead of materializing strings, and moving allocation from per-row to per-series, made the RecordBatch to TimeSeries conversion 4-16x faster.
