This kind of model should be banned altogether. No company should be allowed to treat people like employees but pretend they are contractors to limit liability and responsibility to the employee. This model is only than a way to skirt labor laws.
Exactly. Contract workers aren’t just used to save the company money, they’ve effectively been used as a blanket shield against any responsibility for the decisions and practices the companies themselves are absolutely responsible for. It’s bogus AF and needs to stop.
