Find someone who looks at you the way Kurn looks at Picard.

Picard is off screen looking at Crusher similarly
bruh half this meme is missing
Nope. Perhaps I failed at memeing but nothing is missing from the intended idea.
Edit: I changed my mind and agreed with you.
Since we’re talking intention: Have you considered uploading your image posts instead of linking them? It would be nice to be able to expand them without opening a new tab.
I do upload them. Maybe there’s a federation nuance at play. What kind of link shows up?
Edit: I reduced the image size as an experiment. Does it load in app now?
Reducing the size didn’t help. On closer inspection the file extension “.avif” seems to be the culprit. They never expand on my web client, no matter the size or uploader. Other formats such as png or gifs work fine. I’m going to try to fix this on my end. Thanks!
I uploaded a png so either your app or mine (Voyager) is doing it. I’ll investigate as well. With our powers combined we can solve this.

It’s definitely a web frontend thing. Apparently this pull request has fixed it: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy-ui/pull/3738
I’ll just wait for my instance to be updated.
I was just looking around at the code for Lemmy and Voyager and I agree it’s 100% a web frontend thing. Take this with a grain of salt because I’m not a programmer, just a long time tech guy, but it looks like Lemmy uses
pict-rsas it’s media backend andpict-rshas a configuration to transcode images into.avifto save space as of version 0.5.
Edit: I’ve just noticed that my picture uploaded as a
PNGand now I’m even more confused.
Edit: It’s a Lemmy thing.

I believe thatAVIFis the preferred format on iOS devices? It’s the still image version ofAV1(AV1 Image File Format) and it tends to have better quality per size thanJPEG.
