Zep’s vision is to create a world where AI tackles everyday tasks from the mundane to the monumental, bringing tangible benefits to society. Agents will need access to the right data, with privacy and compliance safeguards paramount. We are developing a continuously learning, permissioned memory layer for AI agents that synthesizes knowledge from user interactions and business data, enabling agents to execute complex tasks successfully. We’re looking for an enthusiastic, experienced developer advocate with a passion for community building and exposure to AI agent application development. If you truly understand the nuances of how software is built and can inspire audiences both in person and online, we want to hear from you! At Zep, this role involves wearing many hats to win the hearts and minds of software teams. You'll build networks with developers and engineering managers while collaborating across departments, including working closely with our founder. We need someone who shines as a public speaker and writer, creating compelling content across various media. You'll engage the tech community through events, campaigns, and other creative initiatives. Most importantly, we're not looking for someone to bounce from event to event with a canned message. We want a developer advocate who can deeply understand our audience's needs, serve them authentically, and build lasting relationships. You'll play a critical role in helping new and prospective customers grasp our value and how to harness it. This vital work will be instrumental to Zep's broader success and growth. This is a major career breakout opportunity: You'll be set up for success with mentorship and weekly guidance from our partnership with Community Leadership Core's Jono Bacon (former head of DevRel at Canonical & GitHub). Typical activities for this role include: Passionately grow and empower the Zep community, enabling them to build amazing agentic applications Create compelling content that truly solves developer problems and showcases Zep's potential Conduct thoughtful competitive analysis to assess how we can always lead with powerful, engaged, thoughtful, and surprising advocacy and engagement Foster deep, authentic relationships within the community and industry, championing Zep to help individual users and customers deliver real value to their companies Embody and amplify Zep's unique voice and brand in all external interactions Be a thoughtful and compelling Zep representative at conferences, events, and in media Constantly challenge our assumptions, pushing us to deliver unique and valuable products Running powerful social media, events, and other outward-facing efforts that will grow our customer, community, and user base Occasional travel will be required for team meetings and to attend developer events Experience with the following is required: 3+ years of experience in developer relations and advocacy Experience with working in AI, DevTools, or similar online communities 3+ years Python or TypeScript development experience in a software or sales engineering role Excellent public speaking, writing, blogging, and content development skills Navigating complex and sensitive community situations with humility, judgment, tact, and humor Working independently and autonomously, managing multiple competing priorities Experience with any of the following preferred: LLM application development, including familiarity with frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or Autogen. Existing network from a diverse set of communities and social media platforms. Media training and experience in communicating with journalists, bloggers, and other media on a range of technical topics.
