The article is just some guy trying to justify the AI hysteria. AGI is a fantasy. The only things these people are priests of is the death cult that is capitalism. Talking about AGI like they are early worshippers of an all powerful machine god is just… Sad. These people have deluded themselves into thinking it is some revolutionary society upending advancement of technology when in reality it’s just a fancier version of auto-complete and predictive text on your phone.

Religion is garbage. Frankly embarassing as a civilization to still be stuck with archaic populace control institutions. Fanatical sadists trying to force about the realization of their religious eschatologies, to the detriment of everyone else.
I’m not reading that but to answer the question, I sure as hell wouldn’t be a priest. I would, however, challenge them to put on their big boy robes and come down here and face me. Eye to eye. They need to account for their crimes. If they’ve got the guts, that is.
