Now everyone can scrape a few million pages to generate and read their own, personally biased three paragraph summary, generated by AI. This is just one of many such abominations.

People haven’t seriously considered or tried for efficiency since the days of 8 bit CPUs. The cost of IT may be falling exponentially but the global footprint is growing exponentially, none the less. Maybe it’s a good thing that the cost of RAM is going up. If the cost of IT goes up enough, it might stop some of the stupidity.

Common culture is going the way of the Dodo. Other than sensational, divisive tripe on social media, it is increasingly difficult to find anything that more than a few people have read, seen or heard.

It makes me sad to see where the world of IT is heading.
