For doing cool shit? Fuck no. Coercing LLMs into fact-check is like mowing your lawn with a helicopter. Go back to all the cool shit people expected, before it got crammed into every Google search! Video game characters who can half-ass a conversation. High-test spellcheck fancying up your sloppy drafts. Style transfer to make Eminem sound like Chaucer for a gag comment.

The image and video stuff (which we’re apparently lumping together? mostly due to simultaneity?) is gonna get fucking wild. Generating straight from text is a boring gimmick. These programs can turn sloppy CGI into high photorealism. Or they can turn blob-color animatics into Pixar CGI. Or they can turn sparse sketches into smooth motion… kinda. That part’s not here, yet. But all of this weird shit is barely two years old, after a decade of erudite fumbling with gloopy 64x64 hallucinations of “avocado chair.”

All of this will get more effective and more efficient. Even if none of it gets used to make idiot corporations rich.
