    Google finally figured out exactly what was needed to attract me back to the official YouTube client. (This is sarcasm.)

    These Google statements include a lot of “we will if we have to”.

    Lol. We all know they already went all out.

    Further adding DRM - which will 100% missfire and piss off their remaining legitimate users - isn’t going to solve anything for them.

    There may not be enough popcorn left in the world for what comes next.

      Doubt. Normies don’t even know what DRM is. They will not notice it, when they already put up to what youtube does by using their apps.

      People here really overestimate their ability to forecast what happens irl.

        Normies don’t even know what DRM is.

        Sure, they don’t know what DRM is. But when it misfires and hits them, they still ask their techie friend for help, and techie friend is going to have an easier and happier time creating a new pirate then providing free tech support for DRM.

        The end result of more DRM has always been more piracy. The only thing that has ever cut back in piracy was highly responsive cheap streaming services.
