The Opportunity\

As a Staff Engineer at Zep AI, you will be at the forefront of building scalable, innovative solutions that empower AI agents with advanced memory capabilities. You'll work directly with our founder to shape our technical strategy and make key architectural decisions that impact every aspect of our platform.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership across our service, from infrastructure, Go API servers, and Python graph services, to front-end TypeScript, in areas of architecture, scalability, security, and reliability
Work closely with engineers designing systems for temporal fact management, entity extraction, and real-time graph updates
Partner with the founder to shape the product roadmap, balancing technical feasibility with market needs
Collaborate across teams to evolve our Python, TypeScript, and Go SDKs, and community contributions and engagement
Mentor engineers and drive technical excellence across the organization
Partner with leadership to define technical strategy and roadmap

What We’re Looking For
7+ years of experience as a hands-on software engineer, with demonstrated expertise in at least two of Python, TypeScript, or Go
An ownership mindset that extends beyond code to business impact
Strong foundation in system architecture and experience building production-scale software
Proven ability to navigate ambiguity, solve complex problems, and influence cross-functional teams
Experience mentoring engineers and fostering collaborative, high-performing teams
Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks and technologies, particularly LLM development (e.g., LangChain)
Track record of building exceptional products and/or developer tools
