I thought next year will be the year of Linux desktop
Turns out it was there all along, and it’s the friends we made along the way.
My first distro was a Slackware that came on a CD of a magazine in the late 90s. Amazing how Linux quickly evolved and was available for people.
Great story. I do wonder why Linus initally chose FREAX.
My guess: Because it’s both FRee and frEAkish (as in atypical) compared to commercial uniX.
