    As the price of a dozen eggs soared above $6 for the first time

    Holy fuck. For reference, during Lent a dozen eggs reached almost 12 reals (like, two dollars?) where I live, and people were screaming bloody murder.

    Egg companies argue it’s a classic case of supply and demand, where limited supply and high demand lead to higher prices.

    “No, we aren’t being arseholes! See, there’s that system of institutionalised arseholery that we’re following to gouge the prices. But we are not arseholes mkay?”
