Many corporate offices, and some coworking spaces, already have laptop docks all over. keyboard, monitor, mouse just waiting for a laptop to get plugged in.
Plugging in a phone instead makes total sense, and for people in that ecosystem, would be a net benefit - especially not having to carry around a full laptop
Do people actually use this? It seems like a good idea but I’ve never figured out the use case
The few people who actually used DeX for doing stuff are now religious about it.
Well, you have to commit into a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard and external display for it to be any useful.
Or just a lapdock. I don’t use DeX but have used a lapdock for LAN parties with my SteamDeck, Raspberry Pi stuff, and server configuration.
Yeah, imagine only having to carry one device when traveling for work. Just buy a commodity dock anywhere you go, and full desktop mode.
Very secure since you take the computing environment with you in your pocket.
The thing is it requires a monitor, keyboard, and mouse. My phone has a 128GB of storage my notebook has 2TB and has a keyboard, mouse, and display.
I really don’t doubt that there are people who have a use case I just wonder what it is, perhaps I’m just to used carrying my computer with me.

That makes sense…
