I forced myself to learn to touch type when I switched to Dvorak. I started out with stickers on the keys, but when that laptop died a couple months into the switch, I never got another sticker set, so almost none of my keys had the correct labels, so looking at them wasn’t a good option. I’m definitely as much faster typist now, and I only partly credit the Dvorak layout.
