I tried Tumblr out briefly not long ago, finally. And I guess I’ve missed the good days? The place feels a little too much like a shopping mall as opposed to what I was expecting. These tumblr memes always gave me ‘old internet’ vibes but what I saw was a lot closer to modern Facebook style.
It’s still a social media site. What you get out of it is very dependent on tags and people followed to my understanding. Not so different from reddit and lemmy experience being dependent on the communities and active posters/commenters.
