I remember reading the post being referenced, not too long ago. To keep it short:
- Never store things exclusively in someone else’s computer. Have at least one local copy.
- If you can’t have at least one local copy, ask yourself why. Odds are you’re trying to back up a lot of unnecessary junk, alongside what matters.
- Some data might be important enough to warrant multiple backups. Think on the grounds of costs: backing it up vs. losing it, as well as the odds of the later happening.
