I always wondered why the Steve Martin movie was called The Jerk when he was just dumb, not mean.

Interesting, and here I was going into it thinking the forgotten other meaning of “jerk” was going to be “rate of change of acceleration”, stupidly not realizing that that meaning isn’t really forgotten or unused, just a different context.
