You mean this one has failed in America. There are still many democratic countries in the world with healthy institutions. You’re not the world, America.

Well in the Netherlands, Sweden, Germany, Belgium, Austria, Italy, and more, fascist movements are exploding in popularity and the EU is actively trying to break encryption and turn itself into a surveillance state yearly. Also the fact that information is also controlled by a select few mega corporations and oligopolies are almost as common as the US.

Not to mention the UK which has already been a right wing surveillance state for years and is transitioning into a police state and arresting any dissenters constantly.

We like to pretend we are a paradise compared to the US, but we are very very rapidly taking the exact same path, just at an earlier stage.

free market and free speech fundamentalism has been abused and we need legislation to counteract misinformation and monopolistic abuse

we also need to openly confront the issues with immigration and poverty so they can’t be milked for votes by the fascists

we need to protect democracy from those that are breaking it

      You’re not the world, America.

Then you should probably stop calling it that. They appropriated using the name of the continent for themselves.

Call it USA or Yankistan, whichever fits your mood.
