Germans did that. The German state or rather its conservative government killed the solar industry when it was blooming in the country, handing the advantage to the Chinese.

Such a mind bogglingly inefficient way of doing green energy. In England this shit is all subsidised by tax payers too. So you end up with rich homeowners getting solar panels installed at tax payers expense and the money going to private firms who overcharge and do a shit job. The solar panels are never properly maintained or cleaned and end up dropping in efficiency dramatically as they get dirtied. In addition to that they are almost never actually painting in the optimal direction.

I can’t say for sure how is being handled in Germany, but if I had to guess it’s the same fucking scam
