    See this is the problem with the law being so slow. I’m all for innovation, but an infotainment system that can brick the car* is an indicator that automakers are messing with critical systems.

    There should be enforceable safety controls and quality standards to ensure they’re not slopping out updates designed to brick your car and/or make things obsolete.

    I’m not buying a Jeep ever, but everyone should follow some rules.

    I bricked my car with a powertrain failure on the weekend too.

    …but that’s because it’s 22 years old and I’m replacing the original clutch.

    Still lower running costs and better uptime than a modern vehicle.
