Under dictatorship of capital, there is no way to work fully ethically. As labor is still required to be performed, both for you to survive and for society to function, you must choose the least bad option. Usually this means avoiding certain especially scummy sectors (MIC, fossil fuels, crypto), checking that the company doesn’t work with those sectors or awful governments (e.g. israel) , and finally unionizing if possible.
You could provide a free service that doesn’t require any form of energy from oil. That would be ethical.
For how long?
It is not realistic to suggest that a person alone, without access to resources, creates abundance without support from other people while somehow finding shelter and food.
A person does not create civilization, and if you want to make an apple pie from scratch you must first invent the universe.
It would be ethical for any amount of time. Isn’t that what Mother Theresa did?
“Mother Theresa” was an awful person.
But were her actions ethical?
No
Excuse me if I don’t take your word for it.
No. That is not what she did.
She was an ideological tool and not some kind of exemplar.
A most charitable description of her would be that she was the symbolic representative of an ideologically motivated charity.
So…you’re saying it was ethical or not?
She was a bad person portrayed as a good one, she was definitely not “ethical”.
What did she do that was unethical?
