    And after that, a judge ruled that Halligan was unlawfully appointed, so the indictment is nullified for another reason. And if they win the appeal, there are still six or seven other reasons to throw out the indictment, even in the improbable event that Halligan’s appointment is ruled to be OK.

    However, on Thursday, Halligan, the judge appointed by President Donald Trump overseeing the case, reversed course and said the full panel did vet the charges.

    Lindsey Halligan is not the judge, she is the prosecutor. It would be very, very weird for the judge to just change their mind like that.
