Uh oh. I’m pretty sure this is the nanoKVM fully endorsed by LTT in their recent ‘handpicked’ tech gift suggestions video
@bcovertigo@lemmy.world on the lemmy.world tech community explained why this thing has a microphone on it: https://lemmy.world/post/39808400/20879776
When you combine it with finding aircrack and tcpdump on there, it starts to look pretty sketchy.
it has a cat picture on it too, they definitely weren’t too careful with what they dumped on this thing
To be clear, I’m just giving citations since the parent comment was right. This reads like clickbait and is based on the idea that the microphone was undocumented and hidden in the article which it is not.
The article is framed as ‘china scary’ clickbait when it should be framed as ‘IoT with default passwords and unnecessary software scary’. Clickbait really annoys the shit out of me and puts people in the wrong headspace to think about things critically.
Oh shit really? XD
So did a whole bunch of other Tech YouTubers so I’m not understanding the point of your comment.
I can think of at least 4 others who have shown the NanoKVM off.
I just recently started using a JetKVM https://jetkvm.com/
It’s $90 vs $60 but feels very solid, and it’s open source on github.
checked it for hidden mics?
