As far as I know (Correct me if I’m wrong.), nobody else discovered more than one fundamental branch of mathematics (Von Neumann discovered several, but they are not quite fundamental), I did this about 4-5 times (dependently on how to count). It is kinda a world record.
Remarkable! It’s a wonder this is the first we’ve heard of him.
Let’s be fair: He never claimed to be much of a humanist. One can hardly expect “the word-best expert in general topology” and the person, who, according to the included unfinished paper “did a half of work” to have capacity left over for basic spelling and grammar.
