I don’t mean to undermine your suffering or hardships, or the ones shared by the world. Far from that.

I am simply sharing a meme pointing out a fundamental shift occurred in my life after starting a daily gratitude practice.

I studied and began practicing “gratitude” when I was living in poverty. Digging in the dirt for $5 an hour. Less than 10 years ago.

The human experience is a “big tent” phenomenon, and as long as rights are upheld, all should be welcome to participate. Even those atheists (myself included) who enjoy meditation.

Edit 1:

1/4 of votes were “down” or “in disapproval of this meme”. Next time I will be more explicit in what is meant by “gratitude can solve most of the worlds problems”.

The trick is that if everyone had what they needed and such a state was recognized, most problems would solve themselves. This is a statement I will stand by.

Edit 2:

Also of note are the many “upvotes” this meme received. I appreciate those who can see what I am trying to say here. Gratitude and mindfulness are wonderful peacemaking forces.

Ohhhh my bad. I wasn’t being mindful enough and allowed my energy to somehow make Trump to do all this bad shit.

I should have more gratitude that all the people who died for this country did so, so that the draft dodging fraudulent rapist idiot could lead the military and other branches of the govt.

i didn’t use the right crystal.

i didn’t use the right crystal.

It’s pretty on brand for an outrage farming political bot to be so ignorant of modern psychology as to confuse mindfulness with crystal healing.

That’s a great insight. I’ll look up some more of his stuff

A brief paraphrasing if someone is curious but doesn’t want to watch a video:

People are damaged by the molds that society forces themselves into.

The ones most able to suppress their own individuality and fit into the mold are considered ‘healthy members of society’ while anyone who chafes at the mold is labeled as ‘mentally unwell’. Even the people who fit into the molds have to make an effort to behave ‘correctly’ and this constant effort and struggle drives a lot of unhappiness (which most people just mask over, further amplifying the damage).
