    I thought it was pretty well established that the Voynich Manuscript was created essentially for the lulz

      Nah, there’s still no definitive hypothesis. Now if by “lulz” you mean a hoax, well… the VM being a hoax of sorts is just one of maybe a dozen or more theories, but considering that it’s been carbon-dated to the 1400’s, it would at minimum be an ancient hoax, and one that would have taken a considerable amount of time and careful labor to create.

      All in all, it seems pretty clear to me that it was created for some specific purpose, but we just don’t know what that was…
