My dog has worked one over on my parents. She won’t eat until she gets a treat from my Dad (the appertif, I like to call it), and then she’ll eat her food and go over to my Mom and she won’t leave her alone until she gives her more treats for dessert.
If this routine is disrupted, she makes a big fuss.
You may want to re-term the treat as an hors d’œuvre or amuse-bouche… Unless your dad is really passing alcohol to your little buddy. Either way, she’s being properly spoiled and the courses should expand as her palette develops.
