Not sure why this is getting downvoted. It’s clearly satire.
It probably speaks to just how thoroughly sick people are, not just of being relentlessly advertised to at every turn, but also measured, weighed, classified, tracked, predicted and primed to consume. Ads (digital ones in particular) are both central to and emblematic of the late-stage capitalistic enshittification of everything, and it pisses people off.
What I’m saying is that people may get it’s a joke just fine, but just don’t get what the funny bit about it is supposed to be. Timing and presentation can only do so much to save a joke about something that’s fundamentally unamusing to most people.
Yeah this is like a joke about inventing a new pill that gives you explosive diarrhea and publishing it as a serious science breakthrough.
Funny to a few isuppose, but just an eyeroll to most who get it right away.
