Many of us going through <a href=“https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Five_stages_of_grief” rel=“ugc”>the five stages of grief</a> about AI. But processing our collective trauma is neither <code>practices</code> nor <code>programming</code>. And people have left because we’re not talking about computing! (<a href=“https://mastodon.social/@tef/116023657636125934” rel=“ugc”>e.g.</a>) <blockquote> Some rules of thumb for great stories to submit: Will this improve the reader’s next program? Will it deepen their understanding of their last program? Will it be more interesting in five or ten years? </blockquote> Glancing at the front-page and /top/1w … are “munching away my passion”, “to not vibe code”, a “loss of identity”, or “the thing I loved has changed” great stories? I do not want to shut down the conversation. Rather, let’s continue it in the right space: <a href=“https://lobste.rs/t/rant” rel=“ugc”>the <code>rant</code> tag</a>! (And pro-AI posts should be tagged <code>rant</code> too; it is for “rants and raves”)
