I wonder what percentage of search-engine “spiders” will get garbage, through this system, too?

ANTI-Search-Engine-Optimization is an “own-goal” I’d never thought I’d see enforced, but … WHEN someone makes anything IdiotPROOF, THEN … Nature evolves a better idiot!

This would need to perfectly differentiate between search-engine spiders & mere webscrapers, & some of those webscrapers are people trying to MAKE your site be helpful, in spite of incompetent information-design…

So, this is actually an effect of, and an enhancement of, enshittification.

Aside from that, this also illustrates how Evolution through Natural Selection sometimes solves the wrong problem, like when us vertebrates stuck our light-sensing cells in our retinas backwards ( literally facing away from the light, towards the backs of our heads ), & once-set, then that remains stuck.

Cruft.
