I tried Jellyfin probably 2 years ago and it was fine but Plex is just “plug n play” in regard to my family setting it up themselves with little help from me.
Plexamp is the only way I stream music too so that’s a big reason why I won’t move yet.

In my opinion they should have just discontinued the lifetime sub instead of the ridiculous pricing and bad press.
40w
It’s an old microATX build with 3 HDDs, 1 SSD, 1 M.2 and a Quadro P400 so I think 40w average is pret2ty good. It’s on 24/7 with no spin down.

If I was starting new today I’d go for Jellyfin but my family is all set up for Plex now and I’m not going through that painful process again :D

In this case you’d be better off on Facebook and Reddit looking for local services that can help you.
You could keep the chain going and pass it down to somebody else?

If you have any old hardware/laptop laying around then use that until you nail down what you actually want to do and need.
I would start by adding a couple more indexers but don’t go overboard. 3 or 4 should be good and then swap them out as needed. Also something to note is make sure you aren’t just “hit n run” on everything and seed properly.
Plexamp
If I’m working then normally I use the smart playlists to mix it up a little.
