Wyoming is next to a couple other states with significant Native American populations. The thing about vaccines is there’s a lot of resistance in those populations, especially if it’s white people administering them. Some of that crowd immunity we expect to have really needs to protect them too, and without it, they will be devastated by white people’s policies again.

That’s a very simplified statement without much cultural context, but I think it’s so painful to blame the ~500k people in one large, mostly rural, largely uneducated state for this when much denser voting populations did too

For what it’s worth, I have seen a melanistic jaguar in Florida at a wildlife refuge

But the elderly people already lose so many toy dogs to alligators, how can they be expected to deal with big cats?? /j

We still had Florida panthers when I was a kid, but there were a lot of people killing them for trophies. Damn, wiki says there’s only ~200 left :(

Had a doc tell me I have a “mystery disease” four months before another at a larger specialty clinic gave me a tentative dx.

This happens where I live and I keep wondering how crazy I would be to complain about it. The parking spots aren’t long enough for trucks, so they back in and completely cover the sidewalk. I need to use mobility devices to get around and usually have to fight my way through the grass because there isn’t enough room for my walker. I’m not looking forward to this fight when snow is on the ground

My neighbor looks a little bit worse for wear and is just a couple years older than him. My neighbor is a raging alcoholic though.
