But there are also the “I vote R because I like guns” or “I’m against abortion.” A lot of people do end up voting on a single issue or a select few. I think being shot at might make those people reconsider.

I dunno about that. I served in the USMC and everyone was pretty left leaning in the sense of “why the fuck do I care about the color of the person covering me, we’re all Marines.”

Many people serving are also minorities from low income, using the military as a step to building a life. Those people didn’t seem Republican to me.

Given the general reaction to Lugi I’d be more inclined to think they just paint themselves as the villain. People, not everyone but some, are realizing what’s going on. They tell their friends and so on.

People that I know who never cared about politics are taking strong stances. I know it looks grim but I feel like the people are waking up and this is the reaction to that, but in this day and age you can’t stop a large shift that easy.
