The European banking system already switched to immediate payment via classic bank wire transfer including realtime validation. That renders PayPal, Wero and whatever else useless, at least within most of the EU. It is one of the best things they did. You can buy a car and send the amount in realtime while both parties are watching their accounts to crosscheck and validate. The EU is able to do good. The only advantage of PayPal left over is buyer protection in international trade.

It’s about a simple as it can get. Never had any troubles with MX. Very good support on the forum. Supports very modern Hardware (AHS Kernel). Very interesting GUI Apps for settings, which otherwise were terminal-dependent. With xfce it will run even on old hardware.

Does btrfs still slow down the system until freezing, when doing snapshots of the sys subvolume? I never used btrfs again. Imagine, you set a cron for hourly snapshots, and what you get is 2 minutes of freezing every full hour 🙈 I never had that kind of trouble with other snapshotable file systems as sys volume.

I had a kind of friend, late friend, he was a senior. Very old school. Whenever there was a difficult issue to solve he would sink into this kind of meditative state of mind, where he would just stare for a long time ruminating. You couldn’t speak to him really. I mean he would still hear you, but not react or answer. Eventually he snapped out after a good while and reliably always came up with a hilariously good solution. And then afterwards answer whatever else you said while he was “off”. Miss him sometimes, great to work with. Incomparable to LLMs. I can see the hype calming down in a few years though, being a little optimistic.
