Haaretz poll from a year ago shows 82% of Israelis are in favor of ethnically cleansing Gaza. And check out this verbiage:
Nearly half (47 percent) of respondents agreed that “when conquering an enemy city, the Israel Defense Forces should act as the Israelites did in Jericho under Joshua’s command – killing all its inhabitants.”

If polling is anything to go by, the vast majority are rabid fascists. But you are technically correct, there is a minority.
Why are they killing US soldiers? Where are these soldiers and why?
They’re likely at one of ~800 military bases the empire has around the world that we use as an implicit (and sometime explicit) threat. We do violence so you can have bananas picked by slaves and install governments that will let us fleece the countries.
Those soldiers aren’t defending us, they almost never die on US soil. They are there in an offensive capacity.
I have a better solution. Don’t do both of those things. If you think it’s justified for some greater good, you’re falling for the propaganda.
Don’t forget record drone strikes (at the time) including a wedding

So why aren’t you more bothered by the worse actor that’s been the hegomonic superpower for the past 80ish years?

I think lifting that many people out of extreme poverty in that short of time is admirable, and speaks to how recent the rise has been. The fact you’re saying “but they don’t have as good of worker amenities like paid time off of Europe that wasn’t at nearly such a disadvantage” is a wild standard.

Even in your one cherry picked metric it’s still beating the US. Incredible.

You forgot, you have to ignore all the good things China does, highlight all the bad (especially if it’s western fear mongering bullshit), and when you highlight how contextually the US is almost always worse for X reason, remember to “oppose both” when you seem to have way more smoke for the other. This is because “tankies bad” and don’t think about it harder obviously. /s

Second this. It gives a really good baseline.

Key word here is partially.
Was it a factor? Absolutely.
Was it the main consideration? Could be, but that’s far less certain.
Here I thought the punchline was going to be a dead body he had to deal with.
