Sure, happy to. You talk about down votes coming from misogynists, with no evidence whatsoever to support that claim. Meanwhile your entire post history seems to be made up of attempts to identify random women for you to goon to. Seems a little hypocritical to me. You speak as though the Lemmy experience is beneath you, so why don’t you leave? We have enough condescending losers around here already without you.

    Sure, happy to.

You called my logic “bizarre,” then when challenged to actually explain what was supposedly wrong with it, you pivoted to:

    1. Demanding evidence for an observation about downvotes.
    2. Digging through my post history to accuse me of “gooning.”
    3. Telling me to leave the community.

That’s not dismantling an argument. That’s a tantrum with extra steps.

Wanting to know who an attractive person is doesn’t automatically equal “gooning.” If it did, every reverse image search, every “who is this actress?” thread, and every celebrity identification post on the internet would qualify. The fact that you immediately jumped to that conclusion says considerably more about your assumptions than it does about my intentions.

And the “why don’t you leave” closer? That’s not an argument either. This community isn’t your personal property, and you don’t get to decide who participates simply because you dislike their posts or opinions.

You accused me of having bizarre logic, yet somehow managed to write an entire response without addressing the actual point. That’s quite an achievement in avoiding a discussion while pretending to participate in one.

Have a nice day, pal. 🤡😂

  • My confusion has less to do with reading comprehension and more to do with trying to unpack your bizarre logic. Also I’m not your pal.

If my logic is so bizarre, surely someone with your supposedly superior comprehension could dismantle it instead of writing a paragraph about how confused you are. And the “I’m not your pal” clarification? Don’t flatter yourself. It was sarcasm, not a friendship application. Try addressing the argument next time; you might actually contribute something worth reading.

“Because the poster could search it up online instead of asking here?”

(I was curious anyway, it’s a Korean singer)

Brother, the entire point of Ask communities is people asking questions they could technically search. That’s the whole genre. You just described 90% of every AskLemmy, AskReddit, and StackExchange post ever made and somehow still thought you dropped wisdom.

You even admitted you were curious and looked it up yourself… after complaining that someone asked. Peak self-own. Next time just stay quiet and enjoy the free reverse image search someone else already did for you.

    Have a nice day pal.

“Probably because it was marked nsfw. My first thought was that someone’s looking for porn.”

That someone is me. And no, if I wanted porn I’d go straight to Pornhub, not post a reverse-image-search question on Lemmy. Your first thought was porn because that’s where your brain lives. The post is a fully clothed red-haired woman in a blue dress with a clear title asking who she is. The only person who immediately jumped to “this must be porn” is you. Congrats on outing your own reflex. The rest of us managed to read the title and see an actual question.

    Have a nice day pal.
