He’s not wrong I think and that is also because of corporate bureaucracy. At my job I have to jump through so many hoops to get a license for something like visio or powerbi and have to set reminders to open it regularly, because you lose them if you do not open them in a certain period. Nowadays I do not bother. I have whipped up a fancy report in R or a pretty diagram using mermaid in Codex much quicker thanI would be simply requesting a licence and justifying the cost to some corporate drone.

Obligatory KDE Connect comment.

Have you read about the Paks NPP? Not throttled, shut down. They even tried sinking barges in the Danube to raise levels enough to keep it going.

Which unfortunately now shuts down because the reactors cannot cope with the heatwaves. Turns out that no river = no cooling = no energy production.

I nearly stopped after the first few episodes. They are really bad, I just cannot see the appeal of cringe comedy.

Actually, yeah. I just cannot fathom how one could not at least check what goes in and what comes out. Nowadays you get push notifications for everything anyways, so I just do not get it.

I get that this might not be super intuitive. but how can one not notice that this is untrue? don’t people check their accounts and see that there is still more coming in and not less? just not as much as one might want, but still.

In Soviet Russia, drone delivers to Amazon.

Yes, exactly! Thanks! EDIT: According to Wikipedia, the CVT in Toyotas is based on planetary gears, so both seems correct.

not necessarily. Toyota uses planetary gears which also change transmission without discrete “gear shifting”. Although going fully EV removes that necessity of course.

brain surgery, eh? Not exactly rocket science.

ouch that’s dark 😁

Now I imagine limey disease. Prime symptom is talking like “Oi guvnor, u wot?”

Maybe it’s just my interpretation or that I see myself in that meme, but I would not say that. Maybe they are a biologist or have an interest in biology? Is it so weird to have an interest in wildlife beyond “kill it with fire”? Also, the term “autistic bitch” does not really scream endearment.

Where did it say autistic? why should an interest in animals indicate autism?

That one’s really funny to me. Used to be that tending to sick and wounded people was considered a man’s job, because the harsh realities of healthcare were considered too much for the fragile female sensibilities.

That is a legendary paper. First-class trolling.
