For as long as video is distributed (digital or physical) there will be someone that will pirate it. Kids used to sell bootleg movies on VHS, later on VCD’s, and finally DVD’s, where I lived.

There is no possible way that digital piracy can be stopped. This slippery slope, leading all the way to only being able to access whitelisted websites, is not based in reality. The fascists will try anything they can to control speech at that level, but the people are crafty. We’ll find ways around everything they try to throw at us. Attempting to lock the internet down to that extent will unite all sorts of very smart people.

Someone was able to link your username to a real person’s name (hopefully not yours!). Once they have that, they can start digging around. If they figure out your state (or however your locale is, if not US), then it’s a matter of plugging away at people search sites. They’ll get family member names, addresses, emails, phone numbers—it is a Google search away, and free at that. Go to Google Maps, plug in the address, and pull up Street View.

I found my info in seconds with a search of my name and state.

I saw this exact scenario play out in a documentary about enhanced humans. There was a guy who was magnetic or something. He called himself The Magnet Guy. He didn’t seem like a nice chap. Even so, he is fabulous.

What the hell happened to personal accountability? I’m sorry, I thought this was America.

I can’t deal with their ignorant, racist, views anymore. Their inability to empathize hurts my soul. Everything is money to them. When I mention that we are talking about people, they say “Well who’s going to pay for that? Not me!”.

What??? In earlier versions, we had to lift a couple of legs on the chips, a 50cm bodge wire, and finally shorting a capacitor while booting. If you’re doing anything private on that computer, like social media, banking, cell phone payments, you need to get an operating system that gets current security updates. Windows 7 has not had security updates in 6 years. Malware, ransomware, etc have had 6 years to break Windows 7. Look at Linux Mint, it is a popular distributor, that many find to be a good bridge to get you up and running.

If you stay still, you get left behind. I don’t expect someone to hold my hand, maintaining a friendship. But man, it would be so nice for my “best friend” to reach out like she used to. I said I didn’t want to drink with her friends anymore, and apparently that meant I didn’t want to hang out with her anymore. I’ve tried a couple of times to initiate a meetup for us, she just does not seem interested in that anymore. Whatever.

The lesson is that people let you down. You listen and help them get through their difficult periods in life, but then can be forgotten when something better comes along.
