Totally agree but also want to throw in the sexiness of the Enterprise too. Had to rewatch a scene b/c I was seriously like, “The design of this turbolift interior is hot. It’s making me sweat!” 🥵
21·2 months agoManual ordering of images in albums is an absolute must before I adopt any image management system. It’s wierd to me that seemingly none of the FOSS systems support it (considering that most of us are datahoading control freaks).

16·8 months agoIt reminded me, very randomly, of quote from a book about urban design and how architectural ideas are introduced and accepted by the public… or not.
From this the “principle of the second man” can be formulated: it is the second man who determines whether the creation of the first man will be carried forward or destroyed…
It was a golden chance and a room full of cowards let it slip.
The book is Design of Cities by Edmund Bacon for anyone interested.
I just spun up Wallabag on my server the other day to replace Omnivore. Im going to take a look at this, but does anyone have experience or thoughts on how this compares? I’m not so deep into it yet that I couldn’t switch to Linkwarden if it’s better.
My main uses would be archiving articles and highlighting passages.
I was really enjoying wallabag for a while, but after an update (or something?) the container no longer connects to the db and I haven’t been smart enough to figure out why yet.
BUT when it works it’s got a nice interface and the Firefox extension clips articles quickly. Biggest downside I’ve run into is the iOS app can’t make highlights or annotations, and it sometimes randomly reloads an article while reading and ‘forgets’ its place.
